Learning

  • Talk is a major vehicle for learning: brainstorming, pair, small group and whole class discussions
  • Language based interactions are how teaching and learning takes place, e.g. maths learning depends on new vocabulary such as bigger, smaller, longer, shorter
  • Improve students’ oral language and use it as a tool for learning in all areas
  • Students explore lesson content using familiar language and later, the teacher models more formal ways of presenting the knowledge
